Help Protect the vulnerable<\/h3>\n

:- Something that has been rattling around for years, but recently direct call tech support scams
\n seem to have had a resurgence.<\/p>\n

We recently dealt with an example where an older gentleman had been contacted by a scammer
\n claiming to be from his ISP, telling the victim that there was a problem with his computer.<\/p>\n

Its a familiar story to many in the Tech business, but please take a moment to talk to any
\n vulnerable people in your friends and family who may be likely to fall for such a scam.<\/p>\n

The number that called the victim we helped was: 0203 239 2603 and displayed as an
\n international call.<\/p>\n

We were able to remove the installed, and legitimate, remote access software and reported
\n the accounts to the providers but things could have been much different.<\/p>\n

The victim fortunately realised during the call that something was wrong, terminated the call
\n and then contacted his bank to have a stop put on his card. A member of a charitable organisation
\n we know then took the victim to his local bank branch to ensure the accounts were secure, and
\n contacted us for some help.<\/p>\n

Not everyone is lucky enough to have the personal support that this victim did, or by association
\n be able to receive a free visit from an I.T. consultant.<\/p>\n

So please, if you know any vulnerable computer users, tell them never to give out bank or card details
\n to callers, and never to allow remote access from people they don't know. The following links give some
